Service Year™ Movement: The Service Year™ Movement is the movement to disrupt the corporate career path so to create a gap year of service between college and career called a Service Year™. The movement was founded on the belief that by instilling an ethic of giving through service to others at the onset of career, young professionals will contribute an exponentially higher amount of civic engagement as measured over a lifetime.
Impact Year™: Impact Year™ is the tip of the spear in the Service Year™ Movement. The two-year Impact Year Fellowship™ offers emerging leaders the guarantee of employment following one year of nonprofit service. It provides the spark, tools, and network for alumni to become civically engaged leaders of conscious in the for profit, nonprofit, and public sectors.
Compound Social Impact™: New scientific research shows that giving is both addictive (giving leads to giving) and contagious (people give when they see others give). This means that one who gave will give again and one who is seen giving by others will inspire others to also give. Just as interest compounds over time, social impact (Donations+Volunteering+Civic Engagement+Influence on Networks+Intrapreneurship) also compounds over time. When giving starts late in life, social impact experiences little or no compounding. However, when an ethic of giving is instilled in individuals at an early age such as through a Service Year™, their Compound Social Impact™ will experience exponential growth.
